...so for some reason everytime I try to tell consign pro to print customer receipts from my star printer instead of the default computer hp printer it says, "To use the Star receipt printer with ConsignPro you must first install the 'Generic/Text Only' printer driver that comes on your Windows. Specific instructions can be found in 'MyComputer' in the Help/Index - installing printers. If you'd like to purchase a receipt printer to use with ConsignPro please call Visual Horizons toll-free (888) 721-9767 for the lowest available price." I cannot find ANYTHING like it mentioned. I went to 'My Computer', 'Help', and then it shows me the options 'Printing and faxing, Performance and maintenance, Hardware, Fixing a Problem, Send your feedback to Microsoft' I've clicked and looked for answers under 'Printing and faxing' and I've quickly scanned through 'Fixing a problem' Can anyone tell me how to make my Star receipt printer actually work with ConsignPro to print receipts?

If you haven't done it already, you have to add the star printer to your computer...Go to Start, then Printers and "ADD A PRINTER" the generic text description will appear in the drop down options for printers. Once you have successfully added the printer CP will allow you to choose it as a receipt option.

I had the same problem when I set my system up the first time (just about 6 weeks ago). I added the printer as described, but it just wouldn't acknowledge it. I'm fortunate in that my son is a technology guru. He had to do something with the drivers to get it to work. If you don't have a technology guru handy,I would strongly recommend you just call the tech support at Consign Pro rather than spend time trying to solve it on your own. If it hadn't been for my son, I would not have been able to get it on my own.

I had the same problem when I installed my orig Star printer, then again when I installed another, more advanced Star printed when the first one died.
My tech guy came out and he ended up just reinstalling it. Both times. And both times it worked. <shrug> Who knows?

If you haven't already, instructions for install the Star printer are at the link below. Once you follow those, and have the correct PORT selected, receipts will print great on the Star TSP600 printer. www.consignpro.com/connect.php

How can I get the "Balance Cash Drawer" feature to work if don't want to hook up to a star printer. I want to still be able to use the feature and have it print to my regular printer. thanks.
