My store offers gift certificates (I make my own) in any amount. I both sell them to customers, and give them as gifts to organizations. What is the best way to enter and then process a gift certificates in ConsignPro? Thanks for any help on this topic.
PS - I should also mention that I do not wish to buy gift cards.

We offer gift certificates through the local radio station....it's called Seize the Deal....On the Consign Pro Payment Option....a payment method category established is "Gift Card"; it is treated as a cash transaction on the first payment screen.....and any remaining balance is identified in the second payment screen........works like a charm.....

We are a new shop trying to figure out how to make the gift certificates work too. Unfortunately we do not have the integrated credit card swiper and gift cards from Consign Pro but would like to find a step by step way to make it work with hand written certificates. Would consign pro be abale to track this or do we have to integrate to make it work ? Anyhelp would be greatly appreciated.

I use the pre-printed and serialized gift certificate books. On the final make sale screen you can process the gift card. Just hand key the serial number on the gift certificate. For added usefulness and accuracy, laser print the barcoded serial number on the back and any terms you wish to add. Then you can scan the barcode when the gift certificate is sold and used. When an item is paid for with a gift certificate Consignpro does not record the gift certificate number on the invoice so you won't have a record of which GC was used on a sale. Maybe one day this small annoyance will be fixed.

I'd like to make a gift certificate for our shop, but I'm not certain how to do this with ConsignPro? I've thought about entering the amounts as a store "item" and then printing it on a sticker (with barcode) and affixing that to my custom created gift certificates. I'd like $10, $20, $50, and $100 amounts made ahead. When they're redeemed, I'd run them as a gift card in the payment setting. Has anyone out there tried this before and do you think it would work?
